Harry O’Laughlin

Harry O’Laughlin, CISSP, CISM is currently the Chief Information Security Officer at the California Department of Insurance, where his role primarily centers around developing and maturing the Information Security Program within that state agency. A career IT professional with over 30 years of experience, his focus on Information Security started in 2007, when transitioning from Network Administration and Infrastructure work in the private sector to State employment, accepting a position as the CISO for the Governor’s Office of Emergency Services. Harry is the Programs Director and board member of the Sacramento Chapter of ISACA.

 

Mike Zill
Former Senior Vice President and Global Shared Services

Mike Zill is an experienced C-Level executive and investor. His most recent role was Senior Vice President Global Shared Services and Business Processes at Becton Dickinson, BD. In this role, he led the operations and optimization of BD’s transactional and knowledge based activities in support of BD customers, partners, suppliers and associates worldwide. Mike joined BD as a result of the BD/CareFusion acquisition and was appointed to the BD Management Committee in 2015. Prior to the BD acquisition, Mike was Executive Vice President and Chief Information Officer at CareFusion. Mike has built and led teams at a number of outstanding firms including Texas Instruments, Motorola, ON Semiconductor, Cisco Systems, ResMed, CareFusion and BD.

Some of his recent industry recognition includes the 2013 and 2014 National CIO 100 award for excellence in technology delivery as well as receiving the 2015 Lifetime Achievement Award given by Top Tech Exec Awards – In 2017 Mike was inducted into the San Diego Top Tech Hall of Fame by San Diego Magazine.

His community activities include participation on the board of Society for Information Management San Diego, Cal State San Marcos advisory board and a key technology advisor and fundraiser for YWCA Becky’s House of San Diego.

Mike earned his Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville and a Master of Science in Financial Management from the University of Texas at Dallas. He has two sons both at university in California.

 

Subbu Murthy

Dr. Subbu Murthy is CIO at Howard Building where his role is to leverage technology to help the construction company maintain their competitive advantage in the market place.  He has been a CIO/CTO/CEO for close to 25 years creating and marketing software products and services. He developed the SaaS based ERP and CRM systems for claims processing in 2003, web-based B2B outsourcing portal, and the first SaaS fuzzy logic system in 2006.  He has developed an integrated IT management platform that provides a 360-degree view of IT.  He has authored a CIO certification program that will be offered free to qualified women who are aspiring to become a CIO.

 

Mike Benson

Mike Benson is the former Executive Vice President and Chief Information Officer for DIRECTV, Inc. He created and maintained information cutting edge technology solutions for DIRECTV’s fast paced global business operations. He oversaw customer care and billing, reporting, analysis and infrastructure requirements as well as financial, marketing and sales support.

Mike Benson is a strategic IT thought leader, architect, and agent for change and growth with 28 years of proven solutions delivery in the information technology field.

He builds execution-focused, high performing, innovative IT teams who are forward thinking learning organizations that deliver competitive business solutions. Corporate University’s Innovative Technology and Learning Award have recognized his award winning visionary leadership, and he has been named to the CIO 100 in 2014. He is a transformative leader with deep technical acumen and strong business knowledge that leads his IT organization to next generation performance results.

 

Lilian Coral
Director of National Strategy, Community and National Initiatives

Coral is Knight’s director of national strategy, where she manages the national portfolio and focuses on the development of the foundation’s Smart Cities strategy. She came to Knight from the City of Los Angeles, where she served as chief data officer for Mayor Eric Garcetti. In this role, she led the mayor’s directive on Open Data beyond the lens of transparency and towards his vision of a data-driven Los Angeles through the management of the City’s Open Data program, the expansion of the use of data science and analytics, and the development of user-centered digital services. Coral led the development of the GeoHub, a first-of-its kind data management solution for integrating geospatial information across the City of Los Angeles’ 41 departments, and oversaw the publishing of 1,100 city datasets and APIs, the management of five portals of operational and financial data, and the roll-out of 15+ digital services, applications and public facing dashboards.

Prior to joining Mayor Garcetti, Coral spent 15 years working on a wide range of health and human services issues as an advocate and executive leader, having had the opportunity to work with labor unions, NGOs, foundations and human service agencies at all levels of government to transform the way government uses data and technology to serve its citizens.

Coral has a bachelor’s degree in international studies from the University of California, Irvine and a master’s degree in public policy from the University of California, Los Angeles. She is a native of Colombia, a place from where much of her inspiration for innovation and social justice emerged.

Paul Butler

Paul Butler was named chief information officer (CIO) in February 2017. He brings to Antelope Valley Hospital more than two decades of experience in healthcare and information technology.

Paul Butler has been a management consultant for 30 years, working with many CEOs, CIOs, CFOs and other executive management to help them implement large technology initiatives and related organizational change. Paul has held senior management consulting positions with Deloitte & Touche Consulting and CSC Consulting and is currently the CIO at Antelope Valley Hospital in California.

 

 

 

Lance Ralls

Lance Ralls is a unique global CIO who rapidly delivers impact to profit and revenue. He is regularly told he is a rare bilingual executive who can speak both the language of business and technical fluently. Lance’s CIO role at Belkin supports all global business groups including Belkin’s hardware accessories business, Linksys home networking products, and the intelligent-connected water solutions division Phyn.

Lance’s global corporate experience spans multiple industries and includes tenures during dramatic growth at DIRECTV, Sony, Warner Bros, NBC Universal, Mattel, Cognizant, and PwC.

At 13, Lance started his first job, changing tires at his father’s tire store. He soon decided he wanted to be the fastest and most effective tire-changer in the shop, which he achieved beating those around him with decades of practice. This is where his love for endless efficiency was born and he follows the same approach when creating solutions that impact customers he serves from consuming tv shows, purchasing electronics/toys, buying movie tickets, or scheduling teams on projects.

Lance’s work has successfully impacted millions of customers, thousands of employees, and created multi-million dollars of business growth by his understanding that technology is only 25% of the solution and you must address the remaining 75% by understanding the process and organization impact for maximum impact from your IT organization.

Lance also serves as an advisory member on the Economic Development Advisory Council to El Segundo City Council promoting growth and community support in the region. He enjoys and has successfully coached hundreds of kids in soccer and baseball for over 10 years, focusing on the process of play, not the outcome. He has always focused on building character in how to work as a team as well as how to deal with failure which in turn delivers success which has led his teams to winning numerous championships.

 

Aaron Gette

Mr. Mackbee currently serves as the Sr. Platform Architect and leads Corporate Strategy for the California Access to Capital Platform, a statewide financial services platform supporting California’s 3.8M businesses. Mr. Mackbee was recently selected to lead the California FinTech Initiative focused on the adoption and integration of new technologies such as blockchain.

 

Jason Kelly

Jason Kelly is Engineering Director at BCG Digital Ventures and heads BCGDV’s West Coast Incubation Lab.  BCGDV is a corporate venture capital firm that invents, builds, and invests in startups with the world’s most influential companies. Jason’s engineering teams build the technology solutions that power the BCGDV startup portfolio.

Jason was co-founder and CTO of Share Interactive, a digital product development firm, prior to its acquisition by BCGDV. At Share Interactive, Jason led the technology practice and built development centers in Seattle, Poland and India.

Prior to Share Interactive, Jason led software development teams at Microsoft and at several startups.  Jason has BS degrees in Computer Science and Journalism and has recently spoken at the Society for Information Management, Vistage, and Startup Week.

 

Vandana Mangal

Dr. Vandana Mangal is founding Executive Director for the Easton Technology Management Center and Co-Director for BIT at UCLA Anderson School of Management. She has been instrumental in launching the Easton Center and growing it to $15 million funding. She has taught Big Data; is on the IS Associates board and the Advisory Committee for Santa Monica CityNet.

As the Co-Director of BIT, she has published 4 books and participated in talks and panels. Before joining UCLA, she was at Intel and AE Business Consulting and, taught at the University of Wisconsin, Madison. Her PhD is from Carnegie Mellon University.

 

Debbie Scot

Randi Levin

Randi Levin is VP and CIO of Forest Lawn Memorial Parks and Mortuaries, one of Southern California’s most famous cemetery properties. Prior to Forest Lawn, she was CIO of Cast and Crew Entertainment Services and before that, CTO for the City of Los Angeles, where she brought the city to the forefront of using smart technology to make government more efficient, accessible and customer-friendly. Randi has 30+ years of experience managing IT departments for government and leading Fortune 500 companies. She served as a Vice President for NBC Universal, where she implemented SAP Worldwide in 26 countries, managing the IT component of many of NBC Universal’s mergers and divestitures. Her previous corporate experience includes work at the Walt Disney Company, L.A. Gear, Inc., Price Waterhouse, Goldman Sachs & Co., Korn/Ferry International, and Hughes Helicopters, Inc. While at Hughes she was able to program technology for the Apache helicopter used in Operation Desert Storm.
