Zafar Chaudry

As senior vice president and chief information officer, Dr. Zafar Chaudry provides vision and leadership for the development of technology initiatives and enterprise-wide information systems and services for Seattle Children’s. His goal is to enable clinicians with the best technology to deliver safe and excellent care to our patients.

Chaudry, who began his career as a physician, brings to Seattle Children’s over 20 years’ worth of experience in healthcare informatics and a strong technical, business and international standards-based approach to IS. He has worked in senior IT roles in startups and served as faculty at the City Colleges of Chicago. He then became CIO of Europe’s largest women’s hospital (Liverpool Women’s) and its largest children’s hospital (Alder Hey), both in Liverpool, England. He moved on to serve as research director for global healthcare at Gartner. Most recently, he was CIO of Cambridge University Hospitals in the United Kingdom.

Chaudry earned his MD from Ross University. He subsequently earned his MS in healthcare management and policy from the University of Birmingham, his MIS in information systems management from the University of Salford and his MBA from Aston University, all in the U.K.

 

Paul Haugan

Paul has over 26 years of experience in the IT industry. He’s currently the Director of Innovation and Technology at the City of Auburn WA, and previously served as the CIO of Johnson County KS, and CIO of the City of Lynwood WA.

 

Scott Ely
Chief Operating Officer and Chief Information Security Officer

Scott Ely is an executive with over 20 years’ experience leading product and security teams for some of the most complex and challenging technology companies.

Currently, Scott is the COO and CISO of AngelMD, an investment platform connecting innovative healthcare startups with investors, physicians, and industry to create a more efficient path from investment to exit.

Scott is a Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) and has an CISO Executive Certification through Carnegie Mellon Heinz College.

In addition, Scott has certifications from Strategyzer on the Business Model Canvas and Value Proposition Design and IDEO for leadership, storytelling and rapid prototyping.

 

Subbu Murthy
Chief Information Officer

Dr. Subbu Murthy is CIO at Howard Building where his role is to leverage technology to help the construction company maintain their competitive advantage in the market place. He has been a CIO/CTO/CEO for close to 25 years creating and marketing software products and services. He developed the SaaS based ERP and CRM systems for claims processing in 2003, web-based B2B outsourcing portal, and the first SaaS fuzzy logic system in 2006. He has developed an integrated IT management platform that provides a 360-degree view of IT. He has authored a CIO certification program that will be offered free to qualified women who are aspiring to become a CIO.

Gerhard Steinke

Seattle Pacific University

Gerhard Steinke, Ph.D. is a Professor of Management and Information Systems in the School of Business, Government, & Economics at Seattle Pacific University. He completed his doctoral work at the University of Passau in Germany. He has taught courses in various areas of Information Systems Management, and Information Security at Seattle Pacific University since 1992. He has consulted for organizations such as Boeing, Microsoft, AT&T Wireless, and the State of Washington.

Jason Kelly

Jason Kelly is Engineering Director at BCG Digital Ventures and heads BCGDV’s West Coast Incubation Lab. BCGDV is a corporate venture capital firm that invents, builds, and invests in startups with the world’s most influential companies. Jason’s engineering teams build the technology solutions that power the BCGDV startup portfolio.

Jason was co-founder and CTO of Share Interactive, a digital product development firm, prior to its acquisition by BCGDV. At Share Interactive, Jason led the technology practice and built development centers in Seattle, Poland and India.

Prior to Share Interactive, Jason led software development teams at Microsoft and at several startups. Jason has BS degrees in Computer Science and Journalism and has recently spoken at the Society for Information Management, Vistage, and Startup Week.

He has met or spoken with nearly 100 CEOs, CIOs, CTOs, COOs, founders, blockchain developers, smart contracts programmers, advisors, IT and management consultants, IoT directors, financial analysts, cloud business managers, angel investors, and software engineers. His broad view of the blockchain ecosystem extends across traditional tech companies, blockchain startups, VCs, legislative and economic development agencies, and the growing local community of blockchain developers, educators, investors, lawyers, miners, network engineers, traders, and others. His interests include self-sovereign identity management, permissioned blockchains, and the social and business impact of distributed ledger technologies.

Keith Dennis is the Regional Vice President of Enterprise Sales for the Western Region at RingCentral, the leading provider of global enterprise cloud communications and collaboration solutions – empowering today’s mobile workforce to communicate, collaborate, and connect. Previously, Keith held leadership positions at UCaaS providers including Mitel/ShoreTel via acquisition of M5 Networks, 8 x 8, and Fuze, and prior was with Netscape and Sun Microsystems leading their enterprise software solutions practices. Keith is based in Northern California and is responsible for RingCentral’s Enterprise Sales Organization in the Western US and Canada.

Enterprise Bio: Juan Rubio is a Solutions Engineer for RingCentral, assisting customers in pre/post sales on the RingCentral platform, so that they can take full advantage of the services RingCentral has to offer. Prior to RingCentral, Juan spent the previous 15 years with a UCaaS and premise based PBX provider, in a variety of roles, SE, engineering and technical support. Juan is based in Northern California, covering the NorthWest territory for RingCentral.

Thomas Fahner

Thomas Fahner joined Children’s Home Society of Washington in December of 2016. He has a Masters from Northwestern University in Communication Systems Strategy and Management, and 20 years of experience in IT operations and infrastructure.
He is an accomplished IT Leader with a proven ability to strategically develop and implement technical teams that support business and financial objectives. Actively partners with the business leadership to discover and strategically align to the best available technology solutions to service the business’s needs. Prior to Children’s Home Society of Washington, Thomas Fahner’s career has spanned positions with the State of Illinois, Cook County, Illinois, US Cellular, and consulting engagements.

Brian D. Roy

Mr. Roy is an IT leader who delivers on transformation and continuous improvement by working closely with customers, employees, suppliers, and partners at all levels to define strategy, organize and lead teams, create new processes and metrics, and manage the programs that deliver solutions. He has spent roughly half of his career in corporate IT management positions, and half as a CIO Advisory consultant in a Big-4 firm and as an independent consultant. His diverse IT background leading and managing transformations and teams of teams in multiple settings brings a broad perspective on the topic of IT Transformation.
