Dr. Subbu Murthy is CIO at Howard Building where his role is to leverage technology to help the construction company maintain their competitive advantage in the market place.  He has been a CIO/CTO/CEO for close to 25 years creating and marketing software products and services. He developed the SaaS based ERP and CRM systems for claims processing in 2003, web-based B2B outsourcing portal, and the first SaaS fuzzy logic system in 2006.  He has developed an integrated IT management platform that provides a 360-degree view of IT. He has authored a CIO certification program that will be offered free to qualified women who are aspiring to become a CIO.

Herman Brown Jr, Chief Information Officer, Office of District Attorney George Gascón, City and County of San Francisco

Herman Brown serves the City and County of San Francisco as the CIO for the SF District Attorney’s Office. His private-sector mentality and a track record of success, proved valuable contributions to the City & County for the last 5 years. With over 25 years of experience in IT, Herman’s managed several enterprise initiatives that consolidated services, streamlined processes, and lowered overall city operating costs. His experience spans various industries; defense, manufacturing, healthcare, software development, advertising and now local government. Herman aims to bring efficiency, transparency, and productivity to government by leveraging technology. As CIO for the DA’s Office, Herman leads the effort to transform a government law firm laden with paper to a digital one that rivals any private sector organization.

Sam Soheil Farajian, Chief Information Officer, Toastmasters International

Sam Soheil Farajian is the Chief Information Officer for Toastmasters International in Southern California. Toastmasters International is a professional association with 370,000 members in more than 140 countries. Toastmasters’ mission is to empower individuals to become more effective communicators and leaders.

Sam is an experienced technology leader, supporting organizations with a mission of helping and empowering people. He has served for profit, nonprofit and startup organizations for more than 25 years. His experience span in the optimization of technology services, digital strategy, transformation with a focus on continuous improvement for organizations with customer-centric relationship management systems. He believes fostering collaboration is critical to creativity and innovation in an organization.

Sam holds a B.S. in Computer Science/System Architecture and M.S. in Engineering Management from the University of Tennessee at Chatanooga.

Satya Pandey, Vice President Project Management, Bank of the West

Satya Pandey is a Vice President, Senior Project Manager with Enterprise Technology PMO at Bank of the West in San Ramon, California. Bank of the West is a financial services company, headquartered in San Francisco, California. It is a subsidiary of BNP Paribas, Paris. Previously, Satya worked in Project management leadership roles at Chevron and JP Morgan Chase. He holds a Master’s degree from Iowa State University and a Bachelor’s degree from Indian Institute, Kharagpur, India.


Hemal Gandhi, Data Evangelist, Capital One

Hemal has 15 years of experience in building large-scale data platforms. He is currently Director of Data Engineering at Capital One, overseeing the implementation of the big data platform, data integration framework, data tools and decision systems. He has extensive experience in the retail / ecommerce domain providing data solutions to business functions such as marketing, finance, supply chain, merchandising and customer advocacy. Previously he worked on data teams for companies like and EBay Inc. (StubHub). He has a Bachelor degree in Engineering, majoring in Computer Science.

Hiba Sharief, Vice President of Information Technology, Oportun

Hiba Sharief serves as Vice President of Information Technology at Oportun, a financial technology company with the mission of providing affordable loans that help people with little or no credit history establish credit and build a better future.  Oportun uses advanced data analytics and technology to score the “unscorable” and offer responsible, affordable, credit-building loans to individuals with limited credit history.  Hiba was recently honored with the recognition of Silicon Valley’s 40 under 40 in 2017.  Hiba has a diverse personal and professional background with consulting, technology and leadership experience across various industries, and in more than 20 countries around the globe.

Alex has 20 years of experience in software industry, including AI-specific experience at Bell Labs, Microsoft, several startups and now Nvidia. Alex is currently leading AI software alliances and developer relations and working with incredible software companies implementing groundbreaking AI solutions across several domains.

Ahsan Baig, CIO, AC Transit

Ahsan Baig, Chief Information Officer. Ahsan provides strategic direction, policy guidance, and the IT services necessary to meet the AC Transit’s operational objectives, overseeing and coordinating all IT investments, initiatives, projects and programs. Ahsan has over 24 years of private and public-sector Information Technology experience, leading and managing high-performing teams in critical, high-visibility projects. Most recently, with the City of Oakland, he spent 14 years in managerial and technical lead roles, such as Division Manager, Interim CIO, and Deputy CIO overseeing IT infrastructure, 911 public safety systems, mission critical radio systems, Project Management Office (PMO) and business applications. Ahsan has worked for Parsons Brinckerhoff, where he worked with Caltrans and Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC) on several smart transportation and transit related projects like 511, FasTrak, etc.

Jay Y. Berg, Managing Partner & Co-Founder, Private Key Capital

Mr. Berg is a Managing Partner and co-founder of Private Key. He functions as a portfolio manager and is responsible for all of the Firm’s trading activities. In addition, he shares responsibility in overseeing the security protocols of the Firm’s cryptocurrency storage and exchange trading. Mr. Berg has more than 20 years of experience developing, designing and delivering complex software solutions with a focus on electronic exchanges, high-frequency trading, cryptocurrency exchanges, and proprietary trading groups.

Prior to founding Private Key, Mr. Berg served as an Advisor and Core Developer for Factom, a leading blockchain company providing 3rd party compliance, audit and due diligence certainty. Mr. Berg also acted as lead architect for bitcoin exchange Coinsetter, acquired by Kraken, where he developed its bitcoin exchange matching engine. He also developed high-frequency automated trading systems and strategies for Vardon Capital. Mr. Berg served as the Head of Professional Services at QuantHouse, a quantitative trading technology solutions firm focused on algo-trading development and ultra low latency market data technologies. He also held roles as a Quantitative Developer at Fortress Investment Group, and as a Senior Developer at Bloomberg, LP.

Jimmy Sanders, Vice President Information Security, Netflix DVD

Jimmy Sanders manages the information security for Netflix DVD.  Jimmy has been involved in computer technology for over 17 years.  He is the current president of the SFBay Chapter of ISSA (Information Systems Security Association).  Prior to Netflix, Jimmy was the Security Architect for Samsung Research of America.  Jimmy is a security leader involved in promoting a security culture to fellow employees and information technology peers.  He is on the committee for several Bay Area security conferences and security advisory boards.  Jimmy strives to be an action and thought leader promoting innovative security layering techniques.  Jimmy Sanders maintains the certifications of Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified in Risk Information and Information Systems Control (CRISC), and Certified Information Systems Manager (CISM).  He holds a BA from San Jose State University.
