Michael Owens

Dr. Michael Owens is a senior-level global business leader, entrepreneur, and cybersecurity executive with over 25 years of experience within corporate, government, and military organizations. He is the Business Information Security Officer for Equifax’s largest business unit functioning, a senior level role with the Global Security organization with the responsibility of leading a high-performing team of information security directors and analysts and to provide ownership, advice, and counsel to Business, IT, and Operations executives regarding key initiatives that could be impacted by compliance, risk, and cybersecurity issues.

He ran as a candidate for U.S. Congress in Georgia’s 13th Congressional District from June 2019 until June 2020. The goal was to become the first member of Congress with a working background in cybersecurity. Michael is a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. He is a member of the World Affairs Council of Atlanta, a Political Partner with the Truman National Security Project, and a VP – Board of Directors with LISTA’s Georgia TechLatino Council.

Michael’s educational background includes North Carolina A&T State University, Georgia Institute of Technology, California Intercontinental University, U.S. Army War College, and Harvard University.
