Elie Abouzeid, Vice President of Information Security

Elie is an accomplished security risk leader with over 20 years of designing, building, and strengthening security programs at private and publicly traded organizations in highly regulated industries. This includes a level 1 PCI DSS Service Provider, a publicly traded investment company, a bank, and multiple provider payers and consumer-driven health care providers. Elie has a long track record of creating security programs from the ground up and is both a technical ex-pert as well as an attorney licensed to practice in State and Federal Courts in Massachusetts. He is an infrastructure and application security subject matter expert with extensive hands-on experience architecting and designing technical and administrative security controls such as SI-EM, email security gateways, data loss prevention, database audit monitoring, privileged access management, and data classification.

Jay Leslie

Jay Leslie is a security-forward IT leader with over 20 years’ experience in the government and nonprofit
space. Jay’s IT and information security career began in the passwords-optional 1990s when as a new intern
stumbled across an unsecured spreadsheet containing salary information. Jay was a happy “hardware
guy” through much of the twenty-aughts but seeing the impact of Nicholas Carr’s book “Does IT Matter? he
transitioned to IT management with a cloud-focus and embracing both the cloud’s benefits and information
security challenges.

Jay holds CISSP and CCSP certificates from (ISC) 2, an MPA from New York University, and a BA from
Rutgers University.

Irving Bruckstein is the Chief Information Officer & Chief Information Security Officer at Salve Regina University;. A dynamic business technology executive with diverse experience. Emphasis on identifying synergies and opportunities for achieving costs savings and superior service lev-els via improved business/process/technology efficiencies on a global scale. Irv advocates for and creates Agile IT teams.

Irv has a Bachelor of Science degree in computer science & mathematics, as well as a master of science with focus on information security. Irv has global expertise in leading very large scale higher education technology programs.

Julia Shapa

Julia Shapa, Head of Digital Transformation Officer

Julia Shapa is John Hancock Senior Director, IT Operational Governance and Transformation – for Insurance IS Delivery Management Office. She has amassed diverse industry experience in Information Technology in finance and healthcare industries. Starting her career on the business side, she progressed to find a way to utilize her educational foundations in finance and technology received at Trinity College – into roles that tie together both sides: operations and IT. Having supported and led multiple transformational initiatives, she gained expertise ranging across a wide spectrum of technology and business areas. Her passion is performance optimization in IS organizations relying on a multi-pronged approach of analytics, governance, outsourcing, process improvement, and agile delivery methodology.

Currently serves with Ally as Risk & Protection Management Director for Delivery and PMO, served at CGI Global as Director of Consulting Services, Her roles have been diverse – Previously serving as Chief Information and Strategy Officer, Associate Dean and Technology Director with Syracuse University, Chief Information Officer & Executive Director for the WRESA. Compuware as Program Director, as well as Director of the Governance Practice, Practice Director. Additionally have served a Chief Strategy Officer. A visionary strategist and change agent, applying approaches that achieve long-term success. Holds a Master’s in Education Technology and Bachelor’s in Public Administration. Awarded an Education Policy Fellowship from Michigan State University and holds certifications as a Project Management Professional and Six Sigma Green Belt. Kim serves as Board Member with several organizations, has garnered numerous awards, and speaks regularly at industry workshops and conferences.


Marcus Fowler

Marcus Fowler, Director of Strategic Threat

Marcus Fowler spent 15 years at the Central Intelligence Agency developing global cyber operations and technical strategies, until joining Darktrace in 2019. He has led cyber efforts with various US Intelligence Community elements and global partners and has extensive experience advising senior leaders on cyber efforts. He is recognized as a leader in developing and deploying innovative cyber solutions. Before serving at the CIA, Marcus was an officer in the United States Marine Corps. Marcus has an engineering degree from the United States Naval Academy and a Masters’ Degree in International Security Studies from The Fletcher School. He also completed Harvard Business School’s Executive Education Advanced Management Program.

Based out of San Francisco, Robert is Sisense’s Field CTO for the Northwestern US. His primary focuses revolve around growing the enterprise client base, supporting pre and post-sales in the region, and guiding the direction of the product. Constantly focused on business strategy, data strategy, and maximizing the value of data, Robert is a key advisor and source of knowledge to prospects, customers, and product teams looking to leverage analytics.


Marcus Fowler

Aamir Lakhani is a cyber-security researcher and practitioner with Fortinet and FortiGuard Labs, with over 15 years of experience in the security industry. He is responsible for providing IT security solutions to major commercial and federal enterprise organizations. Lakhani is considered an industry leader in support of detailed architectural engagements and projects on topics related to cyber defense, mobile application threats, malware, and advanced persistent threat (APT) research. Previously, Lakhani designed cyber solutions for defense and intelligence agencies and has assisted organizations in defending themselves from active strike back attacks perpetrated by underground cyber groups. Lakhani’s areas of expertise include FortiGuard, fundamentals of network protection, cyber defense, mobile application threats, malware, and advanced persistent threat (APT) research.
