Peter Goldberg is CIO of the Hinton Group, including Hinton Scaffolding Solutions and Hinton Software Solutions.  Hinton’s companies are dedicated to leveraging technology to lead industry in safety and efficiency in construction scaffolding management.

Peter is the former Chief Process Architect of BC Hydro, acting Chief Information Officer of the Ministry of Education, and in 2010, he won the Premier’s Award from Premier Campbell for his work building province-wide partnerships as Director of the BC Provincial Learning Network which connects BC students with new learning opportunities locally, and worldwide.

Peter holds an MBA in Information Technology Management from Athabasca University.  

Krista Richmond, Director, Digital Innovation and Partnerships
Technical Safety BC

Krista is the Director of Digital Innovation and Partnerships at Technical Safety BC. Her 25-year career in the energy industry began at AltaGas and BC Hydro before her move to Schneider Electric as their Director of Operations for Western Canada. Through roles across both Field Operations and IT is where Krista found her true passion; combining the implementation of data science, analytics, and technology to enable corporate transformation. Since joining the organization, her work with partners has spanned various technology solutions to future proof of the organization including AI, IoT, and AR/VR. Supporting diversity and inclusion as the catalyst for innovation and being a lifelong learner are the values that form the foundation of her success. Krista is currently completing an Executive Certificate in Strategy and Innovation from MIT.

Davis Swan, Chief Information Officer
TRIUMF

Davis is the Chief Information Officer at TRIUMF, Canada’s National Laboratory for Particle Physics Research and Nuclear Medicine. Davis’s broad exposure to different areas of Information Technology has made Davis painfully aware of the many Cyber Security threats and vulnerabilities that exist within an enterprise environment.

Davis spent more than 25 years working in the Oil and Gas industry in Calgary specializing in data management and software development. For 5 years Davis led the Information Technology team at a mid-sized Heavy Oil producer where he championed many innovations including the construction of the largest private wireless WAN in North America.

Davis held positions with Telus managing the team that monitors and controls the Telus corporate and consumer networks and with ICBC developing Business Intelligence solutions.

Most recently Davis has worked in the Post-Secondary/Research community in Vancouver beginning with a position leading the Business Applications Services team at BCIT after which he was seconded to BCNET as the Manager of Enterprise Systems Services.

Alma Barranco-Mendoza, Chief Executive Officer

Dr. Barranco-Mendoza is a seasoned executive, academic, and entrepreneur, with experience within a wide range of industries, including aerospace, higher ed., manufacturing, biomedical, telecomm, legal, chemical, and software development. She has held C-level roles at the Canadian Space Society, NerdForce-Canada-global technology and cloud solutions provider, Trinity Western University, where she was also a professor of Computing Systems and Informatics and is co-founder of Infogenetica Solutions Ltd. She holds B.Sc. Hons.and M.Sc. degrees in Computer Sc. and Mathematics from Trent University and a Ph.D. in Artificial Intelligence from Simon Fraser University.

Dr. Peter Holowka, Director of Educational Technology

Dr. Peter Holowka is passionate about digital transformation and technology leadership, particularly in education. His doctoral research was in cloud computing adoption and organizational leadership in K-12. His professional work and academic research aim to support teaching and learning by trans-forming the educational environment. He has received multiple awards for leadership and academic excellence. In 2020, he was recognized as Member of the Year by the CIO Association of Canada and currently serves as the Vice President of the Vancouver Chapter. Beginning his career as a network and web design specialist, Dr. Holowka also advises several independent/private schools, businesses, and not-for-profit organizations.

Amit Bhardwaj has over 24 years of experience in companies such as Lumentum, Rodan and Fields, Microsoft, AIG, Clorox, KPMG, and PWC. He has been a Security and Compliance leader having covered areas such as Cyber Security, Security and Risk Operations, Cloud technology assessment, IoT (Internet of Things) security, IT Governance, and Compliance with clients such as Apple, Flextron-ics, and Philips. He has built multiple departments and security programs from the ground up and speaks at many forums covering topics such as Security Convergence and Future of Identity. Amit advocates, “Security is everyone’s responsibility” and appreciates each one of you in keeping your organizations safe.

Pete Koat, Chief Technology and Information Officer

Pete is responsible for defining the strategic technology direction and innovation path for Incognito, identifying functional requirements with customers and contributing to relevant industry standards. Pete is also responsible for driving the development and execution of Incognito’s IT strategy. Before Incognito, Pete spent over 15 years as CTO at telecom software specialists including Libre Communications and Skitter, developing telecom solutions in video streaming, data compression, and OTT real-time communications. Pete holds multiple patents related to IP video compression, delivery, and streaming.

Sam Choudhry is a veteran technology executive with experience in leading information technology teams in the Retail, Financial, Bio-Pharmaceutical, and Public sectors. In his most recent role at a large national pizza chain, he led the teams responsible for implementing a large multi-year digital transformation strategy. This included initiatives such as completely revamped online ordering plat-form and customer experience systems, enterprise application modernization, and an integrated da-ta-driven MarTech stack, all of which helped the organization realize significant revenue growth, ex-pand beyond its traditional customer base and achieve cost & process efficiencies.

Sam holds a bachelor’s degree in computer sciences and also a master’s degree in business admin-istration (MBA) from Simon Fraser University. He is a Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR), Certified PROSCI Change Management Professional, and holds several additional technical certifications.

David is an operational solutions expert and has a solid reputation across the UK and Canada for delivery tailored to customer needs. At Darktrace, David advises strategic customers across North America and is also a regular contributor to major media outlets in Canada where he is based, included CBC and The Globe and Mail. He holds a master’s degree from Edinburgh University.

Bob Hansmann, Senior Product Marketing Manager, Security
