Gerhard Steinke, Ph.D., CISSP is a Professor of Management and Information Systems in the School of Business, Government, & Economics at Seattle Pacific University. He completed his doctoral work at the University of Passau in Germany. He has taught courses in various areas of Information Systems Management, Information Security, IS Project Management, IT Governance and Healthcare Informatics, as well as Privacy, Legal and Ethical issues at Seattle Pacific University since 1992. In addition, he has consulted for organizations such as Boeing, Microsoft, AT&T Wireless, and the State of Washington, as well as taught security seminars in Mexico, Vietnam and Romania.
Jason Kelly, Director of Engineering

Jason Kelly is Director of Engineering at BCG Digital Ventures, the corporate innovation, incubation and investment arm of The Boston Consulting Group. At BCGDV, Jason founded the Seattle Incubation Lab and leads product development and software engineering for a portfolio of digital businesses at the forefront of AI, machine learning and IoT.
Before joining BCGDV, Jason was co-founder and CTO of Share Interactive, a digital product development firm focused on emerging technologies in customer experience and e-commerce. Recognized among the top three fastest-growing private companies on Seattle’s Eastside, Share Interactive was acquired by BCGDV in 2015.
Todd Berger, Senior Director of Technical Solutions
Todd Berger is responsible for the NALA Technical Solutions Team at BlackBerry. Joining BlackBerry in 2015, as part of the Good Technology acquisition, where Todd managed the global Technical Solutions Team for 11 years, contributed to the transformation of BlackBerry to a software focused enterprise security endpoint security provider. Todd has over 18 years of enterprise mobility/endpoint consulting experience ranging from application development, security and collaboration to device and data management. He holds a Bachelor’s of Science degree from University of Connecticut with advance computer science studies at Boston University.
Michael Nikitin, Chief Technology Officer & Interim Chief Information Security Officer

Michael Nikitin is the CTO and CISO at AIDA, a Seattle based healthcare startup reinventing patient transitions to different care settings. In addition, 8 years ago he forged Itirra, a boutique software consulting company focused on high ROI applications for Healthcare. Michael spent a number of years at Microsoft, leading IT teams to deliver business-driven initiatives for Microsoft Consulting Services across 80+ counties, then moved on to work at a corporate wellness startup (Aduro), where he was responsible for product, security and overall IT. Working in Healthcare, created Information Security and Risk Management Programs using HITRUST Common Security Framework and oversaw system-wide security and HIPAA compliance.
John Carroz, IT Director
John Carroz is the IT Director for TerraPower LLC. John provides leadership for the design, development and operations of a secure and healthy information technology environment, supporting the development of next-generation safe, affordable, clean and secure energy technologies. John believes that information technology should always be an enabler for the business and that strong partnership drives the best results. John has worked all over the world designing and implementing business solutions. Currently, he is focused on building strong teams to amplify his impact in an industry that can truly change the world.
Michael O’Malley, Director of Field Technology and Data Services
Mike has 23 years experience in the technology industry as a developer, researcher, and leader. His overall focus has been on novel applications for computer vision and artificial intelligence solutions in domains such as satellite imagery, UAVs, choreography, machine translation, and identification of human actors across multimodal social networks. He is currently responsible for the development and delivery of Wilbur-Ellis AgVerdict™ product, which provides precision agricultural technology to growers across the U.S.
Richard (Rick) K. Peters, Director, Operational Technology Global Enablement
Rick brings more than 37 years of cybersecurity and global partnering experience working across foreign, domestic, and commercial industry sectors at the National Security Agency (NSA). As Fortinet’s Operational Technology Global Enablement Director, working for Phil Quade (CISO), he delivers cybersecurity defense solutions and insights for the OT/ICS/SCADA critical infrastructure environments. Prior to Fortinet, Rick led development of cyber capability across Endpoint, Infrastructure, and Industrial Control System technologies. Previously, Rick also served as an executive leader supporting the Information Assurance Directorate at the NSA. Earlier in his career, he served in a broad range of leadership and Engineering roles including Chief of Staff for the NSA Cyber Task Force and a 5-year forward liaison charged with directing integration of cyber and cryptologic solutions for U.S. Air Force Europe, Ramstein AFB, Germany.
Aaron Hopkins, Regional Sales Manager
Aaron Hopkins is Regional Sales Manager for Capriza. Aaron brings 15+ years of experience helping enterprise customers with data management, storage, cloud and SaaS solutions. A graduate of Stanford University, Aaron excels at understanding the needs of Finance and IT, mapping technology solutions to business objectives and drivers. At Capriza, Aaron manages the Western US and enables customers to significantly reduce operational drag by accelerating decision cycles and approvals by an average of 70%. Aaron works closely with CFO’s and CIO’s to help them deliver technology solutions that boost employee productivity and provide an amazing end user experience.
Richard Townhill, VP of Product Marketing
Richard Townhill is the VP of Product Marketing at RingCentral. Prior to RingCentral he led the Spark, WebEx and Jabber teams at Cisco. Before Cisco, Townhill spent a decade at Apple running the applications product marketing team (iLife, iWork and Pro Apps). He graduated with a degree in computer science from Lincoln University in the UK.
Tuan Vo, Chief Information Officer
Tuan Vo comes from a Microsoft and University of Washington background, with 15+ years of experience in enterprise and educational technology. He has successfully contributed to the development of Hyper-V virtualization development at Microsoft and drive University of Washington Advancement infrastructure migration to AWS & Azure. He provides the vision for Acutek’s products and services to be delivered for customer’s success.
April Mardock, Information Security Manager
Seattle Public Schools
April has supported cybersecurity and InfoTech in 132 different companies. She is well versed in complex, multilayered environments, and is the functional CISO for 60,000 users at Seattle Public Schools. She holds a masters in IT and a CISSP security certification, as well as several other industry-specific certs. She is practical and pragmatic in her approaches to IT security, reducing the techno babble to manageable and actionable tasks for all users, from the boardroom to lunchroom. April’s responsibilities include site-based technology audits, infosec policies, DR and business continuity, firewall management, penetration testing, email spam, and web filtering, and network forensics.
DC Grant, Information Technology and Cyber Security Instructor
University of Washington
D.C. Grant is an I.T. and cybersecurity instructor at University of Washington who graduated magna-cum-laude from UW in Information Technology in 2012, was a National Science Foundation Cyber Corps Scholarship for Service recipient 2012-2014 and received Master Infrastructure Planning and Management from UW in 2014.
D.C. has thirty years information technology experience in various industries, most extensively in network and data center operations management. He obtained Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer in 1997, Cisco Certified Network Associate in 1999, UW Certification in Management of Technology Companies in 2000, Certified Information Systems Security Professional and Certified Information Security Manager certifications in 2004.
