Brandon T. Jones, Chief Information Officer

Brandon Jones is Chief Information Officer of Worldwide Assurance for Employees of Public Agencies (WAEPA). In this role, Brandon leads the development of IT strategy and ensures the smooth integration with WAEPA’s comprehensive strategic planning process and the resulting business strategy. With extraordinary people management and team-building abilities, Brandon specializes in: strategic planning, enterprise metrics, business intelligence, technology upgrades, and financial management.

Before joining WAEPA, Brandon served as the Manager for Cybersecurity at PwC where he successfully implemented several large-scale transformational programs for the Department of Navy. Brandon uses his previous work experiences at the DoD and both commercial and nonprofit sectors to contribute to the assessment of external digital opportunities and threats, and internal technology capabilities. Starting his career at the Pentagon, Brandon quickly progressed to manage multi – million-dollar-plus budgets, while consistently exceeding performance milestones. Overall, he is a leader with exceptional business acumen and a manager with a result-oriented focus.

Brandon has authored various articles in the technology space and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in computer science from St. Mary’s College of Maryland. Brandon is a certified Project Management Professional and a Certified Scrum Master.

Beth Dunphy, Director, Deputy Chief Information Security Officer and Privacy Leader
IBM

With 25 years of cybersecurity experience, Beth Dunphy is the Deputy Chief Information Security Officer for IBM Security. She oversees day-to-day risk management, cybersecurity, and compliance for one of the largest Security product and services providers with a presence in more than 60 countries. Beth is also responsible for the organization’s global Privacy program driving compliance with emerging global privacy regulations. While at IBM, Beth has performed a variety of cybersecurity roles across the corporation. Before IBM, she held numerous cybersecurity positions within commercial security firms and served as a Computer Network Defense Officer in the US Air Force.

Farbod Fakhrai, Director of Security and Compliance
Lark Health

Farbod heads security and compliance at Lark, a late-stage AI Health Tech startup where he is responsible for creating and implementing security policies and procedures, managing partner and vendor compliance, and leading compliance initiatives including implementing HIPAA, HITRUST, SOC-2 Type II, GDPR, CMS, and CCPA certifications/compliance. In addition to his experience in the Health space, Farbod has led efforts in security and compliance in FinTech, Nonprofits, and the Federal Sector.

Khuloud Odeh, Chief Information Officer and Vice President, Technology and Data Science
Urban Institute

Khuloud Odeh is Vice President for Technology and Data Science and Chief Information Officer (CIO) at the Urban Institute, where she leads the strategic planning and implementation of research, operations, and communications technology. Odeh is not your typical technologist: she brings a unique blend of education, IT organization leadership, change management experience, and understanding of global and local sustainability challenges. Over the course of her career, she has helped various organizations develop and implement strategic IT roadmaps that align with and support business process improvements, innovation, and organizational growth.

Before joining Urban, Odeh was the IT Director for the Grameen Foundation, a global poverty-fighting organization. She served previously as the CIO of CHF International (now Global Communities) and as Senior IT advisor to Jhpeigo’s Maternal and Child Health Integrated Program.

Odeh has a BS in Computer Science from the University of Jordan in Amman, Jordan; an MS in Computer Science from American University; and a Ph.D. in Information Technology from George Mason University, where her research focused on the social, environmental, and economic sustainability of an IT organization’s practices. She also has a Master’s Degree in strategic leadership toward sustainability from the Blekinge Institute of Technology in Karlskrona, Sweden, where her research focused on the enabling role of IT and broadband connectivity in sustainable urban development.

Mac Sheehan, Cyber Security Practitioner

Cyber Security Practitioner with over 20 years of professional security experience. Strong knowledge of Cyber Intelligence, Vulnerability Assessment, Incident Management, Cyber Defense, and Security Operations. In Mac’s pre and post-sales engineering career, he has advised top global organizations spanning every major industry, solved complex business challenges, and worked with great leaders and technologists.

Jim Penrose, Chief Operating Officer
BlueVoyant

Jim Penrose has solved complex challenges faced by the private sector and the US Intelligence Community. His experience includes 17 years of service at the NSA and 6 years in the Senior Executive Service. His roles include Founder and Chief of the NSA Operational Discovery Center, Technical Director for Counterterrorism and Mission Manager for the NSA/CSS Threat Operations Center. Jim received numerous commendations including the Presidential Rank Award and the National Intelligence Exceptional Achievement Medal from the Director of National Intelligence.

Jim also served as EVP & Head of Services for [redacted], Inc. and EVP for Cyber Intelligence at Darktrace.

Michael Pincus, Sales Manager, US-Central

Michael Pincus is a Sales Manager at Darktrace, the world’s leading AI company for cyber defense. At Darktrace, Michael works with leading organizations in a range of industries to deploy and operationalize cutting edge technologies. During Michael’s tenure at Darktrace, the company has grown to over 4000 customers and has been the recipient of numerous achievements, including Forbes Cloud and CNBC Disruptor 50. Michael holds a bachelor of science degree from Temple University and is based in Darktrace’s Reston office.

Michael S. Gardner, Deputy Chief Information Officer
USDA Rural Development

Michael Gardner serves as the Deputy Chief Information Officer of USDA Rural Development and is responsible for the day-to-day operation of all technology that supports and enables the Agency’s mission of disbursing $224B in a federal loan, grant, and loan guarantee programs that bring enhanced economic opportunity to the Nation’s rural communities. Michael has spent nearly 30 years in the semiconductor, transportation, financial services, and Federal IT sectors implementing and overseeing mission-critical technology programs and administering multi-million-dollar budgets.

Jose Torres, Chief Information Officer
Marine Corps Community Services

In March 2020 Jose Torres joined the Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS) as their CIO. MCCS is a comprehensive set of programs that support and enhance the operational, readiness, warfighting capabilities, and life quality of Marines, their families, retirees, and civilians. Jose has broad responsibilities supporting MCCS operations globally including Lodging, Food, Retail, and Recreation services. Within the IT portfolio, responsible for IT Strategy, Governance, Risk Management, Cyber Security, Application Development, and Service Delivery.

Before joining MCCS Jose had various roles of increased responsibility in industries such as industrial manufacturing, consumer goods, consulting, and software development. Jose has a Master’s degree in Software Engineering from DePaul University in Chicago and a Bachelor’s in Business Administration from the University of Puerto Rico. He also holds various certifications including CGEIT, CISA, and PMP. Jose has 32 years of experience in Information Technology in the USA, South America, Africa, Asia, and Oceania and is fluent in English, Spanish, Portuguese.

Rodrigo Loureiro, Global Chief Information Officer

Rodrigo Loureiro is a worldwide leader in higher education, with $3.3B in revenue from 27 accredited campus-based and online universities offering undergraduate and graduate degree programs to more than 850,000 students in 7 countries.

He is a C-Suite Information Technology (IT) and INFOSEC Executive Leader with a noteworthy career of executive experience, expertise, and high achievement in large global organizations’ executive technology positions (e.g., CIO/CTO/CISO) involving IT/INFOSEC leadership. Rodrigo’s robust experience in the creation and management of Enterprise Information Security programs as well as Enterprise IT transformation, through cost reduction and modernization initiatives. His vast experience in cost optimization and reduction of overall IT spend, both through maintenance spend optimization and leveraging innovation and modernization.
Rodrigo directs major corporate and global hybrid datacenters and cloud resources, delivering 24/7 world-class infrastructure services. Leads a global organization of 1,800+ employees and a $200M+ IT Budget.

Mr. Loureiro holds a Major in Applied Mathematics and Masters in Statistics and Operations Research. When not figuring out new and innovative ways to increase Information Security, Rodrigo is out riding his bike as fast as possible.
