State of Arizona

J.R. Sloan joined the State of Arizona in 2013 after working in the technology industry for over 20 years in operational and executive-level roles in both private and public organizations.  As CTO and Deputy CIO, J.R. oversees technology innovation development and IT policies. He also serves as Chairman for the State of Arizona Information Technology Authorization Committee (ITAC) which approves and monitors high-cost technology projects statewide.

Focused on digital transformation for the state, J.R. spearheads projects that make a significant difference for Arizona. He executed on a multi-vendor contract arrangement for web applications and online services that resulted in $1M in annual savings; cutting down processing time from 30 days to 2 days.  J.R. also led the efforts of standardizing development and security for over 130 state agency websites, increased the number of online services available to Arizonans by 250% in a two year period as well as formalized policies and governance for key initiatives such as cloud-first and data management. Over the next year,  J.R. is accelerating innovation for Arizona by overseeing the roll out of an app for government services, executing machine learning tactics to increase efficiencies statewide and piloting blockchain technology.

He holds a BS in Business Administration, with minors in Operations and Chemistry, along with multiple certifications. Travis L. Cutright is a service-oriented executive, with expertise developed through over 20 years of experience in establishing and driving strategic direction, enhancing organizational value, and steering continuous improvement. Over the past 20 years, he has served in executive roles in the capacity of Chief Information Officer, Director of Information Technology, as well as Vice President and Regional Business Manager in both the private and public sectors. He possesses a Master’s degree in Public Management from Northern Arizona University as well as a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. He is an active member of International City/County Management Association (ICMA), and National Forum for Black Public Administrators (NFBPA).

Rajat Sen is an experienced Information Security leader with over 17 years of experience. He has been the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) at Republic Services, Inc for the last 5 years.

Prior to Republic Services, Rajat assisted Fortune 500 companies with establishing effective security programs and managing their cyber risk exposure. Over the years, he has established a strong network within the information security industry and is actively involved in the Customer Advisory Boards of leading security products. He has also been active in introducing new talent into the Information Security domain and mentoring young leaders.

Phillip (PJ) Way is CIO for Northland Pioneer College. He has a Master Degree in Management Information Systems with a Bachelors in e-Business. PJ has a background in higher education, Fortune 500 publicly traded organizations and military service in the United States Marine Corps since 1991. His experience includes areas in the public, private and higher education sectors in various roles ranging from strategic, tactical, technical, instructional (full-time faculty role), instructional design, and many opportunities that have expanded professional knowledge. Rob Ludeman is the Director of Solutions Marketing for Business Applications at Pure Storage with a focus on helping customers simplify and accelerate their Microsoft, Oracle and SAP workloads. Rob arrived at Pure in 2017 with over 20 years of experience at Oracle and Sun Microsystems in variety of Product Marketing, Sales Enablement and Product Management roles. In his free time, he enjoys running, travel, watching his 12 year old son play sports, and following Manchester City in the English Premier League.

Hunter Storm is an Information Security professional who has held positions in Fortune 100 enterprises. Storm is a Mensa member, is listed in “Who’s Who in America,” and received the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award.

Enabling business success requires balancing risk and security. Storm’s risk experience extends beyond both. A former inline speed racer, she also holds a ProAutosports license.

Storm is known for explaining technical terms in innovative ways. She has a reputation for being the most personable cybersecurity expert most have ever spoken with…probably because she translates from Geek to English and puts people at ease.

Cary is the Chief Information Officer for the City of Maricopa approximately 30 miles due south of Phoenix’s Sky Harbor Airport.  Prior to joining the City of Maricopa, Cary held IT leadership positions at the Ak-Chin Indian Community, Arizona State University, Motorola, and SkyMall.

Cary has a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University and a Master’s in Business Administration from the Keller Graduate School of Management.

Off hours Cary enjoys golf, woodworking, playing guitar, and holds a General class amateur radio license.

Prior to joining Good Technology in 2013 Robert spent over 10 years in several senior technical sales roles within the Unified Communication and Collaboration business at Cisco Systems.

Robert has over 20 years of Technical Solutions development and leadership experience across multiple technologies and verticals which include Finance, Legal, Healthcare, and Manufacturing.

Todd Berger, Senior Director of Technical Solutions

Todd Berger is responsible for the NALA Technical Solutions Team at BlackBerry.  Joining BlackBerry in 2015, as part of the Good Technology acquisition, where Todd managed the global Technical Solutions Team for 11 years, contributed to the transformation of BlackBerry to a software focused enterprise security endpoint security provider.  Todd has over 18 years of enterprise mobility/endpoint consulting experience ranging from application development, security and collaboration to device and data management.  He holds a Bachelor’s of Science degree from University of Connecticut with advance computer science studies at Boston University.
